REDUCED MECHANISMS

For modeling purposes where just a few species can be used, such as in fluid-dynamics combustion models, results that are close enough to the GRI-Mech predictions to be useful may be obtained using reduced mechanisms. At this time we know about the following mechanisms which were developed based on GRI-Mech 1.2:

Authors Number of Variables (Species) Method of Reduction
A. Kazakov
M. Frenklach
19 or 22 detailed reduction
V.V. Lissiansky
W.C. Gardiner, Jr.
V.M. Zamansky
9 generalized intermediates
W.-C. Chang
J.-Y. Chen
10 or 12 steady-state analysis

The reaction mechanisms which you get from the above sources are not the products of the GRI-Mech project but results of individual efforts as listed.
