CURRENT AND FUTURE RELEASES OF GRI-Mech

We test the performance of GRI-Mech extensively as new data becomes known to us and as new optimizations are completed. In general we find that each new version of GRI-Mech performs similarly or slightly better than its predecessor. For some conditions, usually well removed from the ones used in optimizations, we invariably find that there are notable disagreements with some experiments. Examples of such behavior can be found in the validation sections of this document.

The current release
of GRI-Mech is
GRI-Mech 2.11
It is a compilation of 277 elementary chemical reactions and associated rate coefficient expressions and thermochemical parameters for the 49 species involved in them. It differs from the version 1.2 release in that it includes nitrogen chemistry relevant to natural gas chemistry and reburning.
GRI-Mech 2.11 replaces GRI-Mech 2.1

Also available is
our previous release
GRI-Mech 1.2

Our initial release, GRI-Mech 1.1, is completely replaced by GRI-Mech 1.2 and is not distributed any longer.

In future releases of GRI-Mech the following extensions will be made:

Addition of low-temperature methane oxidation chemistry
Addition of soot chemistry
We do our best to improve the modeling accuracy, the robustness of extrapolations to conditions where measurements are difficult, and so on, and to understand, by experiments in our laboratories, disagreements with the literature that we or others find. We continue to do new optimizations and will supply improved GRI-Mech releases as often as we can.
